LIVA’s p7 software simulates and operates various energy storage systems such as lithium-ion and vanadium redox flow batteries as well as power-to-gas and power-to-heat & cool systems using artificial intelligence (AI) and self-learning algorithms. In addition to maximising the efficiency, safety and service life of the batteries, the software enables the economic integration of sector coupling strategies with renewable energies and green hydrogen.


p7.analytic analyses power demand and supply performance and finds an optimal solution for the given problem or configuration. Our solution can be used for the design and layout of Hybrid Energy Storage System (Hybrid ESS) as well as for control and operation.


p7.control is using the simulated and optimized values of p7.analytic to steer the Hybrid ESS and all further energy assets for a more efficient power consumption. As an operating system (OS) it controls the charging and discharging of all battery systems as well as the control of further energy assets like generators, fuel cells, power-to-gas or power-to-heat plants. Data of p7.control is fed back for further forecasting and optimisation by the use of self-learning adjustments.


p7.grid is combining p7.control entities for a microgrid of exchanged all forms of energy on the supply and demand side. The automated balancing and trading systems shifts energy capacities matching every user’s interest, while maintaining grid stability.
